The Congress of Deputies has recently approved a measure that allows sports clubs and other non-profit entities to hire monitors and coaches with a 100% discount on Social Security contributions.
Details of the new regulations:
- Beneficiaries: Non-profit non-professional sports clubs, associations and entities.
- Staff covered: Workers who act as coaches or monitors dedicated to the training, preparation or training of minors under 18 years of age.
- Discount: 100% of the employer’s contribution for common Social Security contingencies.
- Conditions: The beneficiary clubs must not have any athlete subject to an employment relationship according to Royal Decree 1006/1985, that is, they cannot have professional athletes in their ranks.
This initiative aims to alleviate the tax burden of non-profit sports clubs and entities, making it easier for them to hire professionals dedicated to the training of young athletes.
